Rex von Ritter is a gorgeous 2 year old German Shepherd. Rex is tall and handsome, and has the most mesmerizing auburn eyes that will make you do a double-take. He walks incredibly well on leash, always minding his manners and, if he occasionally walks a little ahead, he looks back to make sure that you are still following closely behind. Rex is mid-energy and seems happy to be around a group of caring volunteers; he approaches us with tail wags and a gentle nudge. Rex can be dominant when meeting some dogs, but he walked well next to a flirtatious female shepherd. He enters doggie playgroups cautiously and prefers socializing with mannerly dogs; he does not care for pushy males. He is a complete sweetheart who will benefit from more doggie socialization and exposure to new environments, as well as an experienced handler who will be committed to his training. He yearns to be out of the kennel and wonders how, with his striking looks and big heart, he got there in the first place.
